BraidBooker: Hello! Today we're talking about the most requested style of the year: Box Braids. What is the secret to avoiding braids that are too heavy?
Pro: The secret lies in the ratio of extensions added to the natural hair section. You should never add more weight than the root can handle. Also, using pre-stretched hair significantly reduces the final weight.
BraidBooker: How long can you safely keep your Box Braids in?
Pro: I recommend a maximum of 6 to 8 weeks. Beyond that, your new growth can mat at the base of the braid, causing breakage during removal. Daily maintenance with a hydrating spray and a satin bonnet at night are mandatory.
